Caliber Collision announced plans to establish a new repair facility at a vacant former dealership site in Waterbury, CT, creating approximately 40 jobs.

The Texas-based company will occupy a new facility at 1200 Wolcott St., a 3.8-acre site that has been idle for years. The property was purchased by Calito Development Group, a Torrington, CT-based company known for its work with national chains.

Waterbury Mayor Paul Pernerewski noted the project's potential to stabilize and enhance the local business landscape.

"This significant investment by Caliber Collision demonstrates a strong commitment to our community and is a testament to Waterbury's appeal as a business location," Pernerewski told the Hartford Business Journal.

The development plan includes demolishing the old dealership building to make way for Caliber's 12,500-square-foot facility. Matt Eucalitto of Calito Development said demolition will begin by mid-April and be completed within six months. The total investment is estimated at around $4.5 million.

In addition to the new Caliber Collision center, the property will retain a secondary structure, potentially serving as a workspace for contractors.
