The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) saw another record attendance at the 14th Annual Charity event "Cocktails for a Cause" on Jan. 21, as more than 200 industry friends joined the CIF trustees at the CASCADE Lounge of the Agua Caliente Casino in Palm Springs, CA.
The event featured a live auction with prizes from the top two NASCAR races: the Daytona 500, sponsored by Axalta, and the Brickyard 400, sponsored by PPG.
To kick off the evening, outgoing CIF President Dan Risley of CCC Intelligent Solutions welcomed all attendees and thanked everyone for their support. He extended a special heartfelt "thank you" to event and prize sponsors as well as CIF’s Annual Donor Program supporters.
"Without everyone’s generous contributions and support the CIF could not fulfill its work," Risley said.
A presentation loop on the screens highlighted some of the help the CIF has provided over the past 20-plus years through the generous support of the industry.
True to CIF’s mission of providing emergency relief, Risley announced CIF has begun to make donations for applications from collision repair professionals severely impacted by the SoCal wildfires. He also announced $250,000 has been set aside for California fire requests, which will be addressed during a set timeframe. A specific donation campaign was set up with all incoming money going directly to affected industry colleagues.
Risley also pointed out the growing number of companies and individuals participating as an Annual Donor. Established in 2021, the program was designed to bring needed recurring resources to the foundation, so it can deliver on its mission to "Answer the Call" when those in the industry have been impacted by catastrophic events. CIF depends solely on the generosity of donations to conduct its work.
