The Southeast Collision Conference featured a giveaway by the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, in which a Gold Star widow and her daughter were presented with a gift to significantly ease their daily challenges.

Amy Dozier, whose husband, Sgt. Jonathan Dozier, died serving the country 16 years ago, received a fully refurbished 2013 Honda CR-V.

The vehicle, donated by GEICO and restored by ProColor Collision Greensboro West, was unveiled May 16. Technicians at ProColor dedicated their expertise to revitalize the car, ensuring it would be reliable for Dozier and her daughter, who is currently exploring college options and participating in extracurricular activities.

“I’m speechless,” said Dozier. “I’m just so thankful for the entire community that has shown up for my family. It’s humbling. This truly mean so much to us. Thank you to the NABC, GEICO, ProColor and everyone who had anything to do with this wonderful gift.”

The third annual Southeast Collision Conference, held May 16-18 in Greensboro, NC, was held by the Carolinas Collision Association and the Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association.

“I am very honored to be the executive director of the Carolinas Collision Association and have members who want to take part in such a selfless act and gift a vehicle to someone very deserving in their community,” said Josh Kent, executive director of the Carolinas Collision Association.

The Recycled Rides program has been a cornerstone of the NABC's efforts since 2007, having donated more than 3,300 vehicles valued at approximately $47 million. These vehicles have been a crucial lifeline for families in need across the nation, providing them not just with transportation, but a pathway to greater independence and opportunity.

Additional partners in the presentation included Sherwin Williams, Beamer Tire, Auto Rumley Services, Bisbee Honda, Precision Collision, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart and Enterprise.
