A Las Vegas woman was arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash, following the discovery of the suspect vehicle at a body shop in Pahrump, NV, about 62 miles southwest of the city. Rachel Maria Terranova, 27, was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on May 30.
The incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. April 28. Nevada State Police responded to a pedestrian crash near the 215 Beltway and Summerlin Parkway off-ramp and the 215-Far Hills on-ramp in Summerlin, NV, near Las Vegas. The Nevada Highway Patrol Multi-disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (MIRT) identified the suspect vehicle as a 2017-2021 Honda Civic.
After seeking the public's assistance, troopers were able to locate the vehicle at the Pahrump body shop. The Nevada State Police obtained evidence and a search warrant, leading to an arrest warrant for Terranova.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said it is important to remain on the scene of an accident, rendering aid if possible and providing necessary information to law enforcement. Any person involved in a crash involving injuries who flees from the scene may face felony charges.
