McGovern Auto Group (MAG) has acquired Toyota of Portsmouth, bringing the auto group's portfolio to 30 dealerships. This acquisition not only broadens MAG's presence in the Northeast but also strengthens its partnership with the globally recognized Toyota brand.
The rechristened McGovern Toyota of Portsmouth is MAG's third establishment in New Hampshire and its second Toyota dealership in the state.
Zac Casey, regional vice president of MAG and a seasoned expert in dealership operations, is set to lead the Portsmouth location.
"Toyota of Portsmouth has been a trusted resource for Seacoast drivers for years," said Matt McGovern, CEO and founder of MAG. "As we welcome the Portsmouth team to our growing McGovern family, we are honored to build upon that foundation while infusing the location with our signature commitment to unrivaled selection, service, and overall experience."
Jim Boyle, former owner of Toyota of Portsmouth and a regional automotive veteran, carefully selected McGovern to carry the torch.
"After decades of serving the motorists of Seacoast, I am confident that MAG is the right partner to lead this dealership into the future," said Boyle. "Their track record of operational excellence, coupled with a genuine dedication to employees and customers alike, gives me immense peace of mind. I know the dealership and the community are in very capable hands."
The 50,000-square-foot facility, sitting on a 5-acre campus, is set to offer an extensive array of new and certified pre-owned Toyota vehicles, alongside access to a broader inventory across MAG's network. The dealership plans to retain existing staff and add new positions.
