Champaign Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Champaign, IL, was recently bought by Sam Leman Automotive Group, according to Performance Brokerage Services.
The dealership will be renamed Sam Leman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Champaign and will remain at its current location at 1906 Moreland Blvd.
Sam Leman Automotive Group was founded in 1963 when Sam Leman opened his first Chevrolet dealerships in Roanoke and Eureka, IL. By 1969, Leman had become Illinois' largest downstate Corvette dealer, selling 100 Corvettes that year. Today, the group has expanded to 10 dealerships across Bloomington, Champaign, Morton and Peoria, IL, representing BMW, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Jeep, Mazda, Ram and Toyota.
Todd Braker, president and CEO of Sam Leman Automotive Group, said Paul Kechnie, senior partner, and Emily Bourne, partner, at the Texas & Midwest Office for Performance Brokerage Services quickly found an opportunity for the group to purchase a dealership within its target market and brands. "We appreciate their help and look forward to working with them on future acquisitions," Braker added.
"We are thrilled to have facilitated this transaction and to support the growth of such a valued client," Kechnie said. "Understanding our clients' specific acquisition goals is central to our approach, and it was a pleasure to work closely with Sam Leman Automotive Group to match them with a dealership that aligns with their vision."
