Mercedes-Benz is implementing a leadership change in its North American operations, naming Adam Chamberlain the new CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) and head of marketing and sales, Mercedes-Benz Cars North America, effective July 1. Chamberlain succeeds Dimitris Psillakis, who will transition to a strategic advisory role through the end of 2025.
The leadership change was announced alongside the appointment of Jason Hoff as CEO of Mercedes-Benz North America, part of a realignment aimed at sustaining long-term growth and adapting to ongoing market transformation.
“Adam is a proven executive with over 30 years of global automotive experience,” said Mathias Geisen, member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Marketing & Sales. “He brings an exceptional blend of strategic and operational excellence in both the manufacturer and retail businesses as well as a strong connection to our team, dealers and customers.”
Chamberlain brings extensive experience from both OEM and retail environments. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and COO at Lithia & Driveway, overseeing more than 300 dealerships and more than $30 billion in revenue. Prior roles include president of Aston Martin The Americas and vice president of sales and product management at MBUSA from 2016 to 2021.
In his new role, Chamberlain will oversee more than 1,600 MBUSA employees and 380 dealer partners in the U.S., as well as 200 employees and 59 dealers in Canada. He is based in Atlanta, where he resides with his family.
The transition comes as Mercedes-Benz continues to advance its digitalization and electrification strategies in North America. Psillakis, who has led Sales for North America since late 2020, played a role in navigating supply chain challenges and driving the adoption of all-electric and plug-in hybrid models.
“He has been a driving force behind Mercedes-Benz’s success in the U.S. and Canada,” said Geisen. “We’re extremely grateful to Dimitris for his commitment and impact, and we’re pleased that his insights will continue to guide our strategy.”
The company reaffirmed its dedication to customer experience, innovation and sustainable growth as it looks to the future with Chamberlain at the helm.
