A Jackson County, MO, judge on Dec. 11 sentenced Tomorren Garrett, 44, to 10 years in prison for the 2020 robbery of an auto repair shop in Kansas City, MO.
Garrett was convicted in September of two counts each of first degree robbery and armed criminal action.
According to court documents from the trial, in March 2020, Garrett brought his vehicle to the shop, at 1700 Truman Road, for repairs, and put down a $350 deposit on the $700 estimate. He returned to the shop April 10 to check on his vehicle. He demanded money from two people at the business, and they gave him $410. He also hit two people in the face with a handgun. He was arrested that day at the shop.
Assistant prosecutors Hannah Bedford and Brady Twenter prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Missouri.
