The National Auto Body Council (NABC) successfully hosted its sold-out Palm Springs Changing and Saving Lives Golf Fundraiser on Jan. 16 at the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort.
The fundraiser, presented by Hertz, attracted more than 150 players, sponsors and industry members, kicking off the 2024 season for the collision repair industry. A highlight of the event was the NABC Recycled Rides presentation, where four deserving Palm Springs families, encompassing three veterans and a single mother, received life-changing assistance.
Held for the first time at the Pete Dye course of the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort, the competition was fierce. Emerging victorious were Todd Highsmith, Dave Mollner, Robert Rucho and Leonard Lassik, who finished 19 under at 51. Following closely were Chris Chase, Bob Cornelius, Steve Widen and Alan Kirkpatrick, and in third place, Joe Flowers, David Anderson, Juan Escalera and Scott Jensen.
Special recognition went to Rob Riley, Alexandra Carney, Mike Harris, John Fernandez and Sandy Panduro for closest to the pin honors, with long drive accolades awarded to Rucho and Keith Egan.
“The real winners are those who we support through our programs---the families in need, military members, veterans and first responders," said Scott Sampley, chairman of the NABC. "We’re honored to be able to give back to them and their communities through the collective work of the collision industry.”
The NABC has announced upcoming events, including the NABC Lone Star Changing and Saving Lives Golf Fundraiser on April 10 at the Texas Star Golf Course in Dallas, TX, and the NABC Boone Valley Changing and Saving Lives Golf Fundraiser on Sept. 9 at the Boone Valley Golf Club in St. Louis, MO. These events continue the NABC's mission to positively impact communities across the country, with proceeds benefiting families in need, military members, veterans and first responders.
The Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, a 501(c)3 entity, ensures sponsorship and donations from these events are tax-deductible. Additionally, the NABC offers a multi-event sponsorship program, providing an efficient way for partners to support these charitable golf events.
