The Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) has been reaccredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as an official standards developer, reinforcing its continued role in establishing national safety benchmarks for the auto glass industry.

Effective Jan. 15, the reaccreditation was granted by ANSI’s Executive Standards Council, following updates to AGSC’s operating procedures for documenting consensus on its standards. This approval allows AGSC to continue developing the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard™ (AGRSS), a key safety benchmark followed across the U.S.

AGSC voluntarily participates in ANSI’s rigorous approval process to ensure its standard-setting procedures meet national requirements. ANSI, a private, nonprofit organization, provides a uniform framework for creating and maintaining safety and quality standards across industries.

The AGRSS standard, which AGSC develops using ANSI’s accredited procedures, outlines safe installation practices and quality controls critical to automotive glass repair and replacement.

AGSC’s renewed status under ANSI demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of its standard-setting process, an essential component in the safety and performance of auto glass installations nationwide.
