A newly refurbished 2019 Hyundai Tucson will help Arizona veterans get to critical medical appointments, thanks to a donation from the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program.

On March 25, the Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council of Mohave County received the vehicle at a special presentation by NABC members GEICO and Bill Luke Body Shop of Phoenix. The SUV will serve as a vital resource for transporting veterans and their families across Arizona and neighboring states -- sometimes as far as 300 miles -- to access health care and other essential services.

The vehicle was donated by GEICO and repaired by Bill Luke Body Shop of Phoenix, a 75,000-square-foot I-CAR Gold Certified facility that is part of the Bill Luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership.

The donation supports the Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council’s mission to provide services, education and advocacy for veterans in the region.

NABC Recycled Rides is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since its launch in 2007, the program has donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at approximately $51 million. GEICO is the program’s largest donor, contributing more than 1,000 vehicles over the years.

Additional partners who contributed to the presentation included Arizona Automotive Paint & Supply, LKQ, Axalta, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart and Enterprise.
